UK Education Ambassador (2011 - 2012)

 

Background

This year British Council opens new recruitment for Education UK Ambassador 2011 – 2012. The purpose of this programme is to engage stronger relationship between Alumni and British Council to build up activities related to UK Education as well as rise personal image of the UK Education to the fellow students.

It aims to increase the numbers of Indonesia students studying in the UK by using ‘word of mouth’ promotion or share experience from those people who have are living proof of the relevance, excellence and enjoyment of a UK learning experience.

There will be Four Ambassadors working closely with the British Council for a period of one year from April 2011 – March 2012. There are some duties/roles that each Ambassador needs to fulfil and in return the British Council will provide a professional fee for the services being successfully carried out. The Four Ambassadors will also prepare event for announcing their role to the UK Alumni.

 

The UK Education Ambassador roles:

a. Writing Article for UK Connect Website

-          Develop interesting articles according to candidate’s area of interest, expertise or experience (3 articles) per quarter.

-          Updating/posting happening news and upcoming events that is useful or interesting for other fellow alumni/students (12 postings)

 b. Event management and promotion

-          Actively be part of the core team for Education UK events in Indonesia on preparation, execution and evaluation.

-          Giving ideas of promotion plan that relate to UK Education promotion or Alumni activities.

 c. UK Education counsellor

Liaising with and answering enquires from potential students who seeking information for UK education as well as promoting and giving advices.

d. Building partnership

To support British Council identify and develop potential partnership with external contacts in making UK education programme more impactful to target audience. Partnership can be a joint/collaboration programme, event sponsorship/participation, advertising opportunities, etc.

Requirements:

  1. Graduated from a UK institution for undergraduate or postgraduate degree or minimum has been studying and living in the UK for 12 months.
  2. Should have passion in writing for the web or other form of media, event management experience, and knowledge about UK Education.
  3. Strong commitment and passion to deliver the role as UK Education Ambassador describe above.
  4. Interested candidate will submit a complete the UK Education application form (annex 1) and 250 words of marketing activities plan to reach potential students in Indonesia in 2011-2012. For further information contact:

Ten suitable candidates will be invited for an interview by British Council

Four selected candidates will be notified and sign for a one year contract

Four UK Ambassadors will prepare their announcement party

Four UK Ambassador will introduced at the UK Alumni Event
