Background
The programme serves as a way to engage stronger Alumni connection and participation in British Council activities related to UK Education. The Education UK Ambassador will become our partners in developing activities and raising a more personal image of UK Education to the fellow students.
It aims to increase the numbers of Indonesia students studying in the UK by using ‘word of mouth’ promotion or share experience from those people who have are living proof of the relevance, excellence and enjoyment of a UK learning experience.
There will be Five Ambassadors working closely with the British Council for a period of one year from April 2010 – March 2011.
There are some duties/roles that each Ambassador needs to fulfil and in return the British Council will provide a professional fee for the services being successfully carried out.
The UK Education Ambassador roles:
1. Writing for the web
- Develop interesting articles according to candidate’s area of interest, expertise or experience (3 articles) per quarter.
- Updating/posting happening news and upcoming events that is useful or interesting for other fellow alumni/students (12 postings)
2. Event management and promotion
- Actively be part of the core team for Education UK events in Indonesia on preparation, execution and evaluation.
- Contributing ideas for promotion plan that relate to UK Education promotion or Alumni activities.
3. UK Education counsellor
Actively involve as part of the core team counsellor for Education UK promotion, giving advices, answering enquiries for potential students in seeking information for UK education.
4. Building partnership
To support British Council identifying and develop potential partnership with external contacts in making UK education programme more impactful to target audience. Partnership can be a joint/collaboration programme, event sponsorship/participation, advertising opportunities, etc.

15 February 2010 | The application is open |
25 February | Deadline of application |
5 & 8 March | Ten suitable candidates will be interviewed |
10 March 2010 | Five selected candidates will be notified |
13 March 2010 | Five Education UK Ambassadors will be introduced at the alumni event |
19 March 2010 | Five Education UK Ambassadors will be invited to join the Higher Education reception party at the HME Martin Hatfull residence. |
1 April 2010 | Start the role as Education UK Ambassador |
